In the west of the island, just around the corner from St Brelade’s harbour, lies Beauport Bay one of the most picturesque spots in Jersey. It’s a great place for those who prefer peaceful natural beauty rather than crowds and amenities.
There is a steep walk down to the bay but with amazing views along the way makes it well worth it.
Beauport beach is a beautiful sandy beach surrounded by weather sculpted cliffs, with a backdrop of groves of pine trees and varied foliage all blended together in perfect harmony featuring nothing but nature at its prettiest. This sheltered beach attracts locals in the summer for soaking up the sun, barbequing, swimming, snorkeling, with kayakers vising or the odd boat anchored for the day to enjoy this idyllic spot.
In the centre of the bay stands an impressive rock pinnacle jutting out from the sea in the turquoise zone, this interesting monolith tops off the scene beautifully. A favourite pastime of intrepid youngsters is to swim out and climb the pinnacle.
If you don’t fancy the steep climb down to the beach then there are a few footpaths at the top by the car park where you will be greeted by one of the best views or sit on one of the numerous benches to relax.
No amenities are at the beach but public toilets can be found in the large car park which is free parking.
Visitors can also reach the beach via bus route 12 or 12a and 22 of the public bus service. There are no buses that pass Beauport Bay so there is a half mile walk to the beach car park.
