La Route De Grosnez, St. Ouen, Jersey, JE3 2AD | Directions
Description

Grosnez Castle is situated in St Ouen, Grosnez in the north west corner of the island high on the cliffs of Les Landes.

Philippe de Carteret held it against the French when they held half of Jersey between 1461 and 1467, but it has been a ruin since the mid-16th century.

What remains of Grosnez Castle today is a gatehouse separated from the mainland by a big ditch and a section of wall and with concrete steps that lead from the rear of Grosnez Castle to an automated signal station where you have breathtaking views across to Guernsey, Sark and France on a clear day and beautiful sunsets.

You will also find a great scenic coastal walk on the headland or lovely walks in the surrounding area.

The ruins are open to the public free of charge and with plenty of free parking

Visitors can reach the beach via bus route 8 of the public bus service.
