Adrian Flux was founded in 1974 and started out by insuring its first Spartan kit car. Within five years, models, such the Hillman Imp and the Ford Capri had joined a range of existing specialist policies for American cars.

During the 80s, Flux had secured its place as the biggest kit car insurer, as well as motorhome, van and pick-up insurance.
