The third National Album Day is on Saturday 10th October and, this year, the theme is all things 80s!
John and the team at Seedee Jons have been hard at work getting ready for this increasingly popular event and, with an element of perfect timing, their new store is now open for business. Located in the old Christian Mission Bookshop, the store is simply beautiful and a real treat for the senses. Concentrating on the huge vinyl record sales market, a recent trend that shows no signs of ending anytime soon, the shelves are packed with classic re-releases as well as offerings from new artists too.
Whilst many of the album covers themselves are indeed works of art in their own right, the walls of the store are covered in bold and brilliant portraits and images that really do grab your attention. Also to be found are record players, pieces of furniture and some truly unique gifts. John has really tapped into the 'quirky home décor' market and succeeded in creating a very cool and funky record shop at the same time.
The original Seedee Jons in Halkett Place remains and continues to stock a huge range of game consoles and games, CDs, DVD, Blu-Ray as well as further examples of attractive home adornments.
Pop along today and see what you're missing. With National Album Day just days away, there really is no better time to get on-board the vinyl train. And, with the PlayStation 5 launch imminent, the team will be pleased to share with you just what all the hype is all about.
