Jersey celebrates nearly all of the same bank holidays as the United Kingdom. If a bank holiday falls on a weekend, the following Monday typically becomes the holiday.

New Year’s Day
A celebration of the arrival of the New Year. This holiday follows many exciting parties and events on New Year’s Eve.
Good Friday/Easter Monday
A beloved holiday in Jersey, Easter events include egg hunts, face painting and more, with many locals and visitors choosing to enjoy the lovely weather at public parks and walking trails, the Jersey Zoo and more. The Channel Islands Heritage Festival also occurs during Easter, running from late March to early May.
May Bank Holiday
The May bank holiday celebrates the arrival of Spring in the Channel Islands. May Day celebrations are varied in Jersey, with a traditional event held in St. Helier’s Marina Gardens that includes maypole dancing, baked goods, activities for children and sampling of Jersey Wonders. The annual Jersey Boat Show - one of the Island’s most popular signature events - is also held this weekend.
Liberation Day
The only bank holiday that Jersey does not share with the United Kingdom, Liberation Day memorializes the arrival of the British Forces at the end of World War II. Liberation Day celebrations include a parade, singing, a reenactment, live music, walkabout acts, dancing and more.
Spring Bank Holiday
This annual holiday falls on a Monday and is ideal for short weekend breaks, barbecues, cycle trips and dinners out.
Summer Bank Holiday
The summer long weekend is perfect for camping, trips to the beach, visits to museums and more in Jersey.
Christmas Day
Christmas is a great time of year to visit Jersey. The town of St. Helier transforms into a bright and bustling hub of holiday cheer and popular events include the Parade of Lights, late night shopping and the Jersey Opera House's traditional Christmas Panto. If you are up for something on the more refreshing side, you can take part in one of the many Christmas Day Ocean swims that take place around the island. The one at Havre des Pas has taken place for more than a century.
Boxing Day
A day of rest and relaxation, Boxing Day is a simple affair in the Channel Islands. Traditionally the last day of the Christmas holidays, you’ll find locals and visitors enjoying brunch and shopping the sales. The Old Motor Club displays vintage cars at the annual Boxing Day Cavalcade where 80 to 100 vintage cars travel on display around the island.
